If GoTM is not doing it for you then those books certainly wont. Gardens of the Moon is the least slow and indeed least long book in the series, the later ones especially the books in the second half are all 1200 pages or more but don't have noticeably more plot in them, they are just full of long winded passages of nihilistic rambling and scores of identical characters being introduced, inner monologuing for 5 pages about every thought they've ever had, doing nothing and then being unceremoniously killed off, rinse and repeat ad nauseum. I advise you as someone currently having a miserable time slogging through book 9 of the main series of Erikson's main body of 10 to just put it down respectfully and turn away and spare yourself.
